Library

The essence of Library is fostering a love of knowledge and information that connects students to their own learning, their immediate communities, and the world around them.
Students tap into their inner creative and intellectual competencies to interpret and appreciate literature, access and utilize information, and develop critical thinking skills. As students engage in the collaborative learning process, they gain an awareness of intellectual freedom. Students learn to access and process information effectively for use in multiple settings. Thinking Routines (such as See, Think, Wonder) facilitate student skill-building. One of the most important skills students learn in the Library is the ability to perform research: finding, evaluating, and applying information about classroom studies or anything that interests them. Core projects supplement, explore and expand on classroom studies, including monthly/yearly occasions, activities or events. The Library is an active place that empowers students to move actively towards becoming lifelong learners.
