In a Big World, Plymouth Meeting Friends School is an intimate community that focuses on the uniqueness of each child and holds central the precious and joyful time of childhood. Our Quaker values, small class sizes, and nurturing teachers allow your child to gain confidence as they learn to think deeply and creatively, ask critical questions, and recognize that they have a place and voice within the greater, even global, community. Our commitment to social justice, identity, and belonging runs through every facet of our work with children.
Take a look around this website to learn more about why families choose PMFS and what makes us unique and then come see for yourself! . And… while it’s important for you to learn about the academics and mission of our school, an in-person visit will best demonstrate the Plymouth Meeting Friends School experience. We look forward to welcoming you to our 11-acre campus, just outside Northwest Philadelphia and easy to reach from Montgomery County communities, where our families live in equal measure. We welcome students without regard to race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or national origin, as our diverse community shows.
Whether you have questions, want to schedule a tour, or are ready to apply, we’d love to help!
Because PMFS is a small school, children are able to develop relationships with teachers, staff, and other students beyond their classroom, and it was amazing to watch our daughter connect with others and develop a feeling of mastery over her entire school experience. One of the greatest things about the Pre-K at PMFS is that the children get the experience of an intimate classroom setting, while also benefiting from the resources of a K-6 program.

It's Home
I loved everything about this school: the kindness, the friends, and a big community. PMFS is like a school. No. Like a home.

The Teachers
Each year my daughter has walked through each grade loving school and always wanting to get to the next grade. My daughter's experience with each teacher has been magical; each teacher, in each grade, has tapped into my daughter's learning style. My daughter is a happy learner. She is confident and always ready to try new things. Teachers at PMFS have a magical approach to academic success.

Understanding
I appreciate the fact that PMFS gave me many different opportunities through which to view the world, whether it be through experiencing a different culture, helping others through service, or participating in meetings for business with the older kids. Each time I had to work with other students or got to talk with people whose lives are different than mine made me gain a clearer understanding of the world, and I am grateful for that.

The healthy enrollment in our Kindergarten allows us to create two classes for the 2022-2023 year. We now have several spaces available in our Kindergarten, which was previously full!

When Should I Apply?
Plymouth Meeting Friends School accepts online applications on a rolling basis for Pre-K (ages 3-5) through 6th Grade throughout the year, considering applicants as space permits. Although January is the first admission deadline, applications continue to be welcomed after that date and considered with respect to school capacity. Our commitment to individual attention, community, and an exceptional academic experience are at the core of our Admissions policy.
