  • How do I start my application?

Click here to start an application. The application is due with a $50 application fee.

The application and its accompanying steps will allow us to learn more about your child and your family in a low-stress environment. We will inform you of acceptance within about 2 weeks of your completion of all required steps.
  • What is your application deadline?

While admission operates on a rolling basis, first consideration is given to priority applications -- for siblings, Quakers, alumni, staff -- submitted by November. Pre-K and Kindergarten applications submitted by the end of November may be invited to a December Play Day as space allows. Pre-K and Kindergarten applications received by the beginning of January will be invited to a January Play Day.

Applications continue to be welcomed after that date and are considered with respect to school capacity.
  • What else do you need for my application?

    • Teacher Recommendations -- A confidential recommendation from your child's current teacher. (Applicants for grades 3 – 6 provide recommendations from 2 teachers.)
    • Student Records (for applicants to grades 1-6) -- Reports and transcripts from your child’s current school
    • Other Documents -- if your child may need modifications to the Plymouth Program, please provide us with more information so we can determine how we can support your child’s learning.
    • Writing Sample (for applicants to grades 3-6) -- we request work submitted for school.
    • Parent Interview -- Schedule a 30-minute chat with our Director of Admission so PMFS can learn more about your child and your hopes for their education.
    • Student Visit and Screening
For Pre-K & Kindergarten: children are invited to a Saturday morning Play Day in December or January. After that date, children are invited to spend a morning with their current cohort at PMFS.
For 1st Grade: children are invited to a Saturday morning Play Day in December or January. After that date, children are invited to spend the day with their current grade cohort at PMFS.
For 2nd-6th Grade: students are invited to spend 1-2 days at PMFS with their current grade cohort.
  • How much does your school cost?

You can see all the numbers and enrollment options on our Tuition and Assistance page.
  • Is tuition assistance available?

We offer need based tuition assistance in all grades (Pre-K - 6th grade). More than 65% of our students receive aid. Find out more at Tuition and Assistance.
  • How do I apply for tuition assistance?

Families apply online through Clarity by a yearly January deadline, submitting their financial information, tax documents, and special circumstances for consideration. There is a fee to submit the application.

Admission applications are considered without regard to financial need; thus, tuition assistance offers are made after notification of acceptance.
  • Can I expect the same tuition assistance every year?

A new application must be submitted each year. It is PMFS’ goal to maintain a comparable award yearly, provided there is ongoing family financial need and in consideration of PMFS’s budget.
  • Where do students go after PMFS?

We have an intensive mentoring relationship with parents as you consider where your child will go after PMFS. Our students move to other area independent schools (often Quaker) and public schools.
  • How is the transition to other schools?

Our students grow to know themselves as scholars, as community members, and as citizens of the world. Our graduates move confidently to other schools: using their voices, taking risks, and integrating their joy into new environments.
