The Physical Education program at PMFS provides students with a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment to engage and explore movement and physical activity. PE classes focus on developing physical skills as well as social skills, allowing students to gain confidence from their participation in a group process.

The Quaker value of Community is incorporated into lessons through teamwork, sportsmanship and cooperative learning games. Movement and fitness activities help students discover their strengths, challenges and interests during individual and team sports, which promote a positive attitude toward play and physical activity. As students progress through the PE program at PMFS, they are exposed to a variety of physical activities that increase their overall physical, social-emotional, and mental health development. The goal of the PE program is for students to become knowledgeable, skillful and confident to be physically active for a lifetime.

The PE Teacher is a member of the Specials team. Responsibilities include planning and delivering an active, integrated curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and engaging for each grade-level. PMFS students participate in our annual Field Day, which is organized and managed by the PE teacher.
