Welcome Erica!

We are delighted to share that Erica Shippen will join the Plymouth Meeting Friends School community as Associate Head of School beginning July 1, 2022.  Erica comes to us from The Agnes Irwin School, where she currently holds the role of Literacy Specialist and Coordinator of Lower School Student Support Services. Prior to that she taught First Grade at AIS, served as a Lower School Reading Specialist at The Haverford School and Tower Hill School, and was an adjunct faculty member at Delaware County Community College. As PMFS’ first Associate Head, Erica will serve as our primary academic administrator, collaborating with faculty on curriculum development as we approach our 10 year accreditation with the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS). Erica will partner with the Head of School to supervise and evaluate teaching faculty and support their continued professional growth and development.   

Erica started her learning journey as a Media Providence Friends School student from Pre-K through 8th Grade. We are honored to welcome her back into the Friends school community as a member of our Plymouth Meeting Friends School family!
