Drama

Drama rests on the simple belief that a student’s unique voice can be expressed and amplified through the vehicle of performance.
Students explore their inner performer with activities that encourage, promote and create habits around connection, imaginative play, flexible thinking, equity, inclusion and confidence-building: improvisation, movement, character development, writing for performance, presentation and the creation and staging of both in-class and large-scale productions.

The Drama classroom is a highly-active safe space, blooming with energy, expression, curiosity and an authentically represented sense of belonging. Our students begin by identifying, naming and communicating feelings in their youngest years and continue to develop this skill through 6th Grade when identity begins to take center stage, both socially and emotionally. The Drama program harvests unique voices within an equitable performance space, so that each of these voices can be heard, embraced and represented.
