PMFS Celebrates 230 years of Quaker Education
On Friday, October 22, 2010, PMFS honored our 230th Anniversary with an all-day celebration. The day began with an alumni luncheon for PMFS alumni classes 1970 and before, followed by a "William Penn Oak" Tree Tribute including the school's second oldest living alum, Katherine Jones Muckle, Class of 1925. Following the tree ceremony, students participated in an historic scavenger hunt on campus, searching for facts in monologues delivered by six characters in PMFS history who were adeptly portrayed by PMFS faculty. Students also had to hunt for items connected to PMFS history and take photos of particular historical features of the campus.  History truly came to life! After the scavenger hunt, students and families engaged in historic games and crafts, as well as a walking field trip to the Plymouth Historical Society. The day was topped off with a community dinner for PMFS families in the Steinbright Multipurpose Building.

Times Herald reporter Jenny DeHuff came to Plymouth to cover the story and it appeared in
the Sunday, October 24th issue of the Times Herald. Click here to read the full story.

PMFS also had a photographer on the scene to document this special event in our school's history. Click here to view a slide show from the day.
