PMFS Weekly Announcements, June 11- 18, 2010
School Ending, Forms Still AWOL

We still do not have (yellow) student information forms and (white) busing eligibility forms from all returning families. They were due on May 17. It is going to be impossible to print a redbook or get your children on buses if we do not receive these forms... um... now. Contact the main office if you need new copies.

Road Work to Begin on Butler Pike

We have been informed by Aqua that work will begin on Butler Pike (between Karrs Lane and Germantown Pike) on June 14, 2010. The work to replace a water main will begin at Karrs Lane (near Ridge Pike), proceed towards Germantown Pike, and should be completed by September. We are unsure how the work will affect entrance and exit routes at PMFS, so we ask for your patience and attention during the construction work. If you have questions about the work, Aqua has supplied us with their Customer Service number: 877-987-2782. The PMFS office will also be happy to answer any questions to the best of our ability. Thanks  for your cooperation.

Summer Lessons in...

Piano      Guitar      Voice      Drama
with Frumi

There are a small number of openings available for private piano, guitar, voice, and drama students for Summer 2010. Starting a student in a summer slot assures a spot for your child in the fall. Piano and guitar lessons take place in the music room on Wednesdays for half an hour. Drama and voice lessons are also thirty minutes. Call or email Frumi at 215-582-5899 or frumic@comcast.net to discuss the benefits of music lessons for your child.

All Things Alumni

The graduation speaker this year is PMFS alumnus Carson Vitello. Carson graduated from PMFS in 2004. Carson will speak at the 7pm evening graduation on June 15, 2010.
We had a great turn-out of PMFS alumni at Strawberry Festival. This year 92 alumni signed in at the Alumni Tent! In addition to many alumni from the local area, we had one alumnus visiting from New York.
Two alumni reunions were held during Strawberry Festival this year. Members of the PMFS Class of 2000 and the PMFS Class of 2004 gathered in the fourth grade classroom to catch up, look at photos from their Mexican Exchange, and view the video of their sixth grade musical.
Three alumni returned to campus on Friday, June 4 to attend our Soon-to-be-Alumni Lunch for the sixth grade. Lauren Ballester, ’05, Miranda Webb, ’06, and Stanton Young ’07 were our alumni panelists at the lunch this year. All three did a great job talking with sixth grade about transitioning to a new school and how to stay connected with PMFS.
The sixth grade gathered with their teachers and parents for the dedication of the sixth grade class gift to PMFS. This year’s sixth grade is giving the gift of the rain garden for the new building. A heartfelt thank you to the sixth grade class and class parents for their generous and thoughtful gift to the school.

Have a Great Summer!
