Meeting for Worship

At Plymouth Meeting Friends School, the Quaker belief that there is that of God in each person guides many of our programs and practices. We teach our students to always ask the question: How can we injure or harm another person who is just as much the embodiment of God as we ourselves? We ask children to reflect on how their actions and words affect others.

Nowhere is this ethic more evident than in the judgement-free atmosphere of Meeting, held Thursday mornings throughout the school year. Meeting for Worship is an all-school activity and a constant of our week at Plymouth. It is treasured as an occasion for students, teachers, parents, and other adults at school to connect as a community in prayer or reflection. Although there is no expectation of sharing, prayers and thoughts are often spoken openly and spontaneously by both adults and children.

All members of the PMFS community are also welcome to worship with the Plymouth Monthly Meeting, under whose care the school operates.
