Physical Education

The physical education program at Plymouth Meeting Friends School is designed for students to develop and express their individuality in a wide variety of both cooperative and competitive activities. While the goals and objectives for each grade vary, common threads can be found in all PE classes:

Fun: PMFS students are taught to exercise in a fun and enjoyable way.

Teamwork: Teamwork and sportsmanship are stressed and taught in a supportive, non-threatening environment.

Winning and losing: Students learn how to appropriately accept winning and losing.

Confidence: PMFS students develop a work ethic that hopefully provides them with the confidence to feel comfortable in all athletic situations.

Physical education classes are offered to all PMFS students, beginning in pre-k and continuing through sixth grade. Classes are held both indoors and outdoors, and students are offered activities that are both age and developmentally appropriate.

In addition to regular PE classes, PMFS students in fifth and sixth grades have the opportunity to play after school sports such as soccer, football, and basketball, participating in games with other area schools.
